Universal planning permit / Environmental permit

From 1 January 2018, there have no longer been separate urban development permits and planning permission. In Belgium, the universal planning permit (Omgevingsvergunning) has integrated the environmental permit and planning permission into a single permit, which means the application, the procedure and the decision are articulated. Every permit that concerns planning activities which require consent or the operation of classified establishments and activities (the former environmental permit) falls under the universal planning permit.
